The strategic rollout of the Alveo Sense™ Poultry Avian Influenza Test aims to equip smallholder farmers, industrial poultry integrators, and public health officials with immediate, field-ready molecular diagnostics to mitigate the escalating global Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) crisis.
1. Addressing a Global Animal and Public Health Crisis
The partnership comes as wild birds and agricultural supply chains confront unprecedented viral outbreaks worldwide. According to regional disease tracking data, avian influenza has infected over 208 million domestic birds in the U.S. alone and spillover events have impacted over 1,168 dairy cattle herds, underscoring the cross-species transmission risks posed by circulating H5N1 clades.
By decentralizing molecular testing, the Alveo platform allows field personnel to establish immediate quarantine and containment protocols without waiting days for reference laboratory confirmation.
2. Infrastructure-Light Design for Low-Resource Environments
