Meta Immune Tech Launches CPI Pet Immune Analysis Platform in South Korea

South Korean biotechnology company Meta Immune Tech has begun full commercialisation of Cellytics Pet Immunity (CPI), a pet immune-function analysis system designed to quantitatively measure immune-cell composition and activity in dogs.

The company has signed a supply agreement with Vaxcell-Bio Therapeutics, developer of the canine cancer immunotherapy Boxrukin-15, to use CPI for immune monitoring before and after treatment. Boxrukin-15 is approved in South Korea as an adjunct immunotherapy for canine mammary tumors and lymphoma.

Lens-free immune-cell analysis

CPI uses Meta Immune Tech’s proprietary Lens-free Shadow Imaging Technology (LSIT), based on digital inline holography. The platform analyses cell morphology and activity without conventional fluorescent labelling or a flow cytometer.

The company positions CPI as an immune-monitoring platform rather than a one-time blood test, allowing changes in immune-cell activity to be tracked throughout treatment. Meta Immune Tech says the technology can provide rapid cell-level analysis with substantially simpler equipment than conventional flow-cytometry workflows.

Precision oncology opportunity

The Vaxcell-Bio collaboration is strategically important because response to cancer immunotherapy can differ substantially between individual animals. CPI will be used to measure changes in immune-cell composition and activity associated with Boxrukin-15 treatment, potentially supporting more data-driven treatment monitoring.

Meta Immune Tech has also worked with Konkuk University Animal Hospital to establish reference indicators for immune-cell activity in healthy dogs and is conducting research with specialist veterinary hospitals to investigate links between immune activity and clinical outcomes.

Analyst view

The launch represents a shift in Korean companion-animal diagnostics from routine cell counts toward functional immune monitoring. If clinical correlations are validated at scale, CPI could become relevant to veterinary oncology, vaccine-response assessment, postoperative monitoring and companion-animal precision medicine.

Meta Immune Tech plans to expand CPI through veterinary hospitals across Korea and extend the platform to other companion-animal species, while pursuing international opportunities in pet precision medicine.

Industry significance: The commercialisation creates a potentially important bridge between veterinary diagnostics, immunotherapy and precision pet medicine, particularly as canine cancer therapies become increasingly targeted and biomarker-driven.
