FisTx Promotes Non-Chlorine Water Disinfection Technologies for Indonesia’s Shrimp Farms

Indonesian aquaculture technology company FisTx is promoting three water-treatment technologies—Baskara UV, Cakra Electrolysis and Nano Disinfectant—as alternatives to conventional chlorine-based pond-water treatment in shrimp farming.

The technologies are positioned around water sterilisation and biosecurity, with the objective of helping shrimp producers manage microbial risks while reducing reliance on conventional chemical treatment.

Water quality and pathogen management remain major production variables in intensive shrimp farming, particularly in Asia’s large commercial shrimp-producing markets.

Industry significance

The development reflects the continuing convergence of aquaculture production, water-quality management and animal health.

Non-chlorine physical and electrochemical treatment systems could become increasingly relevant as shrimp producers seek improved biosecurity, lower chemical dependence and more controlled pond environments.
