PetPace Launches Smart Health Collar Through Chewy

AI-Powered Continuous Monitoring Brings Veterinary Health Data Into the Home

Pet-health technology company PetPace has launched its Smart Health Monitoring Collar through Chewy, significantly expanding consumer access to continuous physiological and behavioural monitoring for dogs and cats. The announcement was made 6 October 2026.

The product is designed to provide pet owners with continuous health information and actionable insights intended to help identify changes earlier.

The latest V3.0 system also supports sharing of health information with veterinarians, while PetPace is piloting a feature for monitoring epilepsy episodes.

Why the distribution partnership matters

The technology itself is not the only story. Chewy provides a major consumer distribution channel.

That potentially shifts PetPace from a specialist veterinary-tech product toward a mass-market preventive-health proposition. The emerging model is:

wearable → continuous data → AI interpretation → owner alert → veterinary consultation

Veterinary implications

Traditional veterinary medicine is heavily episodic. A pet is observed when the owner notices a problem or during scheduled clinical visits. Wearables can create a different data architecture: 24/7 baseline → deviation detection → earlier veterinary evaluation.

This could be particularly valuable for:

  • senior pets

  • chronic disease

  • obesity

  • postoperative recovery

  • cardiac disease

  • epilepsy

  • behavioural changes

Analyst view

The major commercial opportunity is not the collar hardware. It is the longitudinal pet-health dataset. If validated, large datasets combining heart rate, temperature, activity, sleep, behaviour and clinical outcomes could become valuable for:

  • veterinary decision support

  • preventive-care subscriptions

  • insurance

  • clinical research

  • pharmaceutical trials

  • therapeutic monitoring

The challenge is clinical validation. A commercially successful wearable must demonstrate that alerts are sufficiently accurate to generate useful veterinary action without producing excessive false positives.
