LURÍN, Peru — Veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturer Vetex has officially inaugurated a modern injectable drug production plant in the industrial corridor of Lurín, south of Lima, Peru. Representing a major capital investment aimed at expanding South America’s animal health manufacturing footprint, the new state-of-the-art facility is constructed to increase the company’s regional livestock drug
production capacity and support a targeted 150% surge in regional export volume over the next three years.
The strategic expansion comes in response to rising global demand for protein, expanding herd sizes across South America, and stricter international standards regarding veterinary drug quality, sterile processing, and biosecurity protocols.
Facility Specifications and Technological Capabilities
The Lurín manufacturing complex covers specialized production suites designed around stringent international Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Engineered to supply both domestic livestock producers and international trade partners, the facility incorporates automated cleanroom environments, specialized sterile fill-finish suites, and advanced analytical testing laboratories.
Key manufacturing capabilities of the new plant include:
-
High-Volume Injectable Lines: Automated sterile liquid filling lines capable of processing multidose glass and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) vials for large-animal therapeutics
-
Long-Acting Formulation Suites: Specialized processing equipment tailored for high-viscosity, long- acting (LA) injectable antibiotic suspensions and antiparasitic formulations
-
Lyophilization Infrastructure: Industrial freeze-drying units designed for bio-stable injectable vaccines and complex biological molecules
-
Quality Control & Traceability: Integrated high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) units and digital batch-tracking systems ensuring total supply chain integrity from raw active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to commercial distribution
