VetnCare Acquires Holistic Veterinary Care as US Veterinary Hospital Expansion Continues

Northern California veterinary group adds Oakland practice focused on rehabilitation, pain care and a wider approach to companion animal health

OAKLAND, California, July 14, 2026: VetnCare has acquired Holistic Veterinary Care, expanding its veterinary hospital network in Northern California.

The acquisition was announced on July 14. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Holistic Veterinary Care joins VetnCare

Founded in 2009, Holistic Veterinary Care has built its practice around combining conventional veterinary medicine with rehabilitation and other supportive treatments.

The Oakland veterinary hospital says its care model brings together conventional medicine, holistic care and regenerative medicine.

For VetnCare, the acquisition adds a practice with a different approach from a traditional general veterinary clinic.

Rehabilitation and pain care are an important part of the deal

Holistic Veterinary Care provides services designed to support pets with pain, reduced mobility and recovery needs.

According to the acquisition announcement, the hospital’s services include rehabilitation, acupuncture, chiropractic care, pain management and other integrative veterinary treatments.

These services can be particularly relevant for ageing pets and animals recovering from injury or living with long-term mobility problems.

VetnCare expands its Northern California veterinary network

VetnCare describes itself as a growing community of veterinary hospitals across Northern California. Its stated model is to connect hospitals through shared expertise and clinical support while maintaining links with their local communities.

The company said the Holistic Veterinary Care acquisition is intended to improve local access to veterinary services and support a wider range of care options.

A wider shift in companion animal veterinary care

The acquisition also reflects a broader change in pet healthcare. Veterinary care is increasingly moving beyond routine vaccination and treatment of acute illness. Pain management, physical rehabilitation, mobility support and care for older pets are becoming more visible parts of companion animal medicine.

Holistic Veterinary Care brings these services into VetnCare’s growing hospital network.

Why the VetnCare acquisition matters

For the US veterinary industry, the deal is another example of veterinary hospital groups expanding through practice acquisitions.

However, the clinical focus of the acquired hospital makes this transaction particularly interesting.

VetnCare is not simply adding another general veterinary practice. It is adding established expertise in veterinary rehabilitation, pain care and integrative animal health services.

As pets live longer and owners seek more options for chronic pain and mobility problems, these services could become an increasingly important part of the companion animal healthcare market.

The VetnCare–Holistic Veterinary Care deal therefore highlights two continuing trends in US veterinary medicine: veterinary hospital consolidation and growing demand for broader pain, rehabilitation and long-term pet care services.
