Thailand Begins Preliminary Review of Chinese Poultry Import Proposal
Thailand’s Department of Livestock Development (DLD) has confirmed that it is conducting an initial assessment of a request from China to export poultry products to the Thai market, marking the first step in a regulatory process that could influence poultry trade between the two countries.
According to DLD Director-General Somchuan Ratanamungklanon, the request was submitted by the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC), which has formally expressed its interest in gaining market access for Chinese poultry products.
The proposal is currently under technical evaluation, and Thai authorities have emphasised that no decision has yet been taken regarding import approval.
