Saudi Arabia Signs $687 Million of Poultry-Sector Agreements

Saudi Arabia has signed 27 agreements worth more than SAR2.57 billion (approximately US$687 million) as the country accelerates development of its domestic poultry industry.

The agreements were signed around the opening of the Middle East Poultry Expo 2026 in Riyadh, which is attracting more than 400 companies and exhibitors from 45 countries.

The investment programme is aimed at increasing poultry production, improving production efficiency, strengthening supply chains and attracting further investment.

Although the agreements are broader than animal health alone, the development is highly relevant to the animal-health industry because Saudi Arabia’s poultry expansion will increase demand for the supporting ecosystem of:

vaccines + diagnostics + feed additives + biosecurity + farm technology + environmental management + processing technology.

The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture specifically highlighted technologies covering poultry production, feed manufacturing, animal health, processing and packaging at the exhibition.

Strategic significance

Saudi Arabia is attempting to strengthen domestic food production and reduce vulnerabilities in food supply chains. Poultry is central to that strategy because of its relatively efficient feed-to-protein conversion and scalability.

For animal-health companies, increased domestic poultry capacity creates a potentially attractive market for integrated disease-prevention solutions rather than standalone pharmaceutical products.

Industry signal

Saudi Arabia is emerging as an increasingly important Middle Eastern market for integrated poultry health and production technology.
