Indonesia’s Vaksindo is positioning itself as a broader animal-health and biotechnology company rather than solely a poultry vaccine manufacturer, according to an industry interview published today.
The company is investing in advanced vaccine platforms including recombinant, subunit, virus-like particle (VLP), mRNA and self-amplifying RNA technologies, while also strengthening biosafety infrastructure and research collaborations.
Vaksindo says it exports to more than 24 countries across Asia and the Middle East, while its manufacturing footprint includes Indonesia, Vietnam and India. The company is also exploring aquaculture and AI-based diagnostics.
Why this matters
The strategy reflects an important shift in Southeast Asian animal health:
from product-led vaccination toward integrated disease-management platforms.
The company is linking vaccine development with field surveillance, biosecurity, diagnostics, research partnerships and commercial farm data.
This is particularly relevant for poultry diseases such as avian influenza, Newcastle disease, reovirus, chicken infectious anaemia and inclusion body hepatitis, where regional strain variation can affect vaccine performance.
Vaksindo’s approach also illustrates the increasing importance of regional vaccine manufacturing capability as animal-health companies seek greater control over technology, supply chains and locally relevant disease strains.
