GO Raw LLC. Expands Voluntary Recall OF Freeze Dried Pet Food Due to Low Vitamin B1 Levels

US FDA officially published an updated enforcement notice today regarding a voluntary recall expansion by Go Raw LLC.

  • Issue: The company has expanded its withdrawal to encompass an additional commercial lot of Steve’s Real Food Freeze-Dried Chicken Recipe (Cat and Dog Food) due to critically low Thiamine (Vitamin B1) levels.

  • Risk: Thiamine (Vit B1) is an essential nutrient required for normal carbohydrate metabolism and neurological functions. Cats and dogs fed this lot long-term are at severe risk of developing progressive symptoms ranging from decreased appetite and neck ventroflexion to life-threatening seizures.

  • Details of Recall: The affected 1.25 lb zip-locked packages were distributed nationwide, covering retail centers across states including CA, TX, NY, IL, FL, and CO. Consumers are instructed to halt usage immediately and return the product for a full refund.
