Mother Dairy Launches India’s First Degradable Pouch

During a major national press briefing in New Delhi on June 2, Mother Dairy Chairman Meenesh Shah announced a critical milestone combining environmental sustainability with retail dairy economics.

  • Eco-Innovation: Mother Dairy officially rolled out India’s first naturally degradable milk pouch. The infrastructure shift aims to reduce the massive plastic footprint generated by the country’s daily fluid milk consumption.

  • Price Outlook: Addressing the market impact of recent input cost fluctuations, Shah reassured consumers that despite a ₹2 per liter price hike executed last month due to a 6% spike in farmer procurement costs over the past year, there is absolutely no intention to further increase retail milk prices for the foreseeable future. The government’s ongoing herd productivity and vaccination drives are successfully stabilizing raw milk supply lines.
