Synexis & Customate Partner on Continuous Poultry Pathogen Control in UK & Ireland

Synexis LLC and UK engineering company Customate Solutions have announced a strategic collaboration to expand Synexis’ Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP®) continuous pathogen-control technology across poultry operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The partnership was announced on 5 October 2026.

The agreement targets hatcheries, poultry farms, slaughter facilities and meat-processing operations, positioning continuous environmental pathogen reduction as a complement to conventional cleaning and biosecurity programmes.

Synexis says its DHP technology operates continuously in occupied environments and is designed to reduce airborne and surface-level microbial loads 24/7/365 without interrupting normal operations. The company says its systems can be deployed through in-duct or standalone equipment, allowing application across facilities of different sizes.

The strategic rationale is particularly relevant to hatcheries. Microbial contamination of hatching eggs and hatchery environments can affect hatchability, chick quality and subsequent flock performance. The companies argue that scheduled sanitation can leave periods between cleaning events during which environmental microbial exposure continues.

Synexis cites field and third-party research reporting reductions in airborne and surface microbial loads and claims that its technology has the potential to increase hatch rates by 1–3% compared with formaldehyde in a referenced study. These performance figures are company-reported and should not be interpreted as independently established outcomes across all commercial hatcheries.

The technology also carries a stated UL2998 zero-ozone-emission certification, while Synexis says its systems are regulated by the U.S. EPA as devices. Regional regulatory status and permitted applications can differ, making local compliance an important consideration for UK and Irish deployment.

Animal-Health Industry Implications

The partnership reflects a broader shift from periodic sanitation toward continuous environmental biosecurity.

For poultry producers, the commercial value proposition will ultimately depend on measurable outcomes such as hatchability, chick livability, pathogen load, mortality, antibiotic use, production performance and cleaning costs.

For animal-health suppliers, the opportunity is significant: environmental-control technologies are increasingly moving into the same decision space as vaccination, diagnostics, biosecurity and flock-health management.

Industry Takeaway

Continuous pathogen-control technologies could become an increasingly important layer of poultry biosecurity, particularly in high-throughput hatchery and processing environments where maintaining consistent environmental control is operationally difficult.
